Need help with asteroid base
Ok well so I currently FREDING away on my own campain have got 5 missions or so finished however I just played through them and realized the the NTF Boadicea I had been using as an asteroid base suddenly split in two and there was an Iceni.
Well I didnt think that would happend so now I am just wondering if anybody has any suggestion on either any other station I could use or if there is anyway to prevent it from splitting in two into an Iceni using FRED ???????

Was thinking of using a Arcadia instead but since these are suppose to be pirates I dont think thats realistic.

Re: Need help with asteroid base
Pirates would likely have to improvise. With that in mind, you could use a couple of disabled ships strung together with multiple docking to make up the base, then scatter some groups of containers and sentryguns around the area to flesh it out some.

Re: Need help with asteroid base
How hard would it be for an intrepid modeller to make the Boadicea into its own model?  AFAIK all they'd have to do would be to remove the Iceni and create new debris chunks.

Re: Need help with asteroid base
You could look on hades-combine.com for some other bases (I think they have some downloadable ones), or just mash a bunch of a ships together. FRED doens't crash or anything if two ships occupy the same space. In Derelict, for example, they used a Ganymede docking ring and just attached a bunch of science cruisers and medical cruisers, as well as a Deimos corvette, to it. Looked pretty cool.

And as long as we're taking requests for new models, I've got one that I thought I could do but I can't. Could someone please just increase the size of an asteroid model to like seven or eight clicks long? I thought I could do the with MDLView's .pof editor, but nooooooo. I don't have anything resembling a modeling program, and they're expensive. I kinda need this for my own campaign idea, or else I'll have to cut like five missions out.  :(

TBMs are the easiest way of adding ships nowadays, it prevents problems when using multiple ship mods.
