aparently this is all the rage now, sort of fun, the rules are each colum and row and each of the 3X3 boxes must have 1-9 in them at the same time, there can be no duplicates (as this will cause you to miss one)

theyre ok. i did one, it was an overrated experience. i showed my mom how to play and shes hooked. i personally havent the time to solve meaningless puzzles as there are more important puzzels to solve.

There was an article about sudoku in an issue of scientific american, I believe, from a little while back.  It's interesting stuff but, damn, I can think of a lot of better things to do with my time.

It's not as fun as.....say, Freespace 2, but it is a good time-killer. plus, I found that doing a puzzle before a Calculus test actually improves my performance.

Great for killing time. Even if I'm waiting 10 minutes for my dinner to cook or whatever, I might try and do one in that time. I don't much care for TV, and if I start any other PC/console game, I probably won't wanna quit in 10 minutes. Plus, it's good for the prefrontal cortex of your brain or something. But fun? Hmmm, depends on who you are I s'pose.

My college had a monthly sudoku contest announcement.  Supposed to be a drawing for $50 among all the correct entries.
I wrote a program to solve the things for me, cause teaching the machine to solve the puzzle was more fun then solving the puzzle.

Then it turns out that by "Monthly" they meant "This month only"
