Does FreeSpace 2 have the capability to "spawn" other objects things (fixed number or random) triggered by the destruction of a specific thing?
I.e. to make it so that whenever a large Shivan ship is destroyed it spawns a number of smaller ships?
Descent3 had this; some robots, when destroyed, would leave behind new robots to deal with, usually a smaller "pilot" robot.
Or it used that system to spawn unique explosions or produce extremely deadly missiles.
I used to have fun in Descent 3 making missiles that would fly ahead, explode, launch several other bomblets off the explosion, which then fragmented into more bomblets, which also exploded...
...making room-clearing weapons was sooooo much fun...
...Anyways, if FS2 doesn't already have a system just like D3's Table .GAM File system (anyone familiar with it) for spawning stuff, it should be looked into -- because it would allow a ton of flexibility where creating debris ingame is concerned.
