You should be able to access it from the help menu in FRED. If not simply look in data\Freddocs for an index.html file.

Hello folks !

I think I will start to fred on my own.... :)
Wells do this baby together :)

So, one comment on missions :

Note that RAIDER WARS consisted of many well done highly sophisticated missions, that hence took a great deal of work for every single one of them.

Unlike RW, the Earth Alliance Civil war does NOT consist only of challenging missions, and some missions do not even feature combat !!!
There are lots of missions which just "tell" the plot, and carry it on. I think the number of missions that REALLY need lots of work like the ones from RW are quite limited.

Keep in mind that EACW was originally designed with 15-20 missions in mind, and this number increased mostly because of storyboard- and plot-related issues.

When you take a look at the mission scripts you will understand.

Greeting... Skullar ( who is in a good mood )

I haven't had a chance to look over the scripts yet.  I'll try to look at them tomorrow evening, maybe tomorrow while I'm at a car show.

I personally like the idea of non-combat missions being included.  Only thing is, try to make it so the player doesn't know if there will be a fight or not.  I think that makes each mission a little more interesting and realisitc, and fun.  That's something I had done with my old campaign.  Of my 80 or so missions, probably 25 or 30 of them were non-combat.  Things as simple as a patrol or freighter escort in a couple of instances, but most of them had something to do with the plot so the missions weren't too boreing.

Myself, I don't have a problem with no-combat missions. I think they can enhance it because, hey, I don't think a pilot is fighting ALL the time. Some dialog/plot ones a fine.

Didn't Transcend do a similar thing?

I'll read everything on that site and try to learn how to FRED.

I agree actually. Despite RW being almost entirely back to back combat missions :)

  • Oceans rise. Empires fall.
yes and no...
they are already fully outlined but have no solid spript like the other 42 missions
"As you sought to steal a kingdom for yourself, so must you do again, a thousand times over. For a theft, a true theft, must be practiced to be earned." - The terms of Nyrissa's curse, Pathfinder: Kingmaker

==================

"I am Curiosity, and I've always wondered what would become of you, here at the end of the world." - The Guide/The Curious Other, Othercide

"When you work with water, you have to know and respect it. When you labour to subdue it, you have to understand that one day it may rise up and turn all your labours into nothing. For what is water, which seeks to make all things level, which has no taste or colour of its own, but a liquid form of Nothing?" - Graham Swift, Waterland

"...because they are not Dragons."

so is this project still in the works or has it stopped production?

  • The know-it-all
I'm one of the FREDers, and to my knowledge it's still a go. Though the scripts should be found since I have only those missions I was working on.
