Do anybody know where I can download military footage from Afganistan/Iraq (both first and second conflict)/current Israel coflict with Hesbollah.  What I need most is all kind of fotage with military equipment, artillery (like MLRS or Paladin or other), tanks, Gunships, warships, planes, infantry, close combat, close quarter actions, night vision actions, air attacks camera video (I mean when plane launch some of it's bombs they show video with house with targetting cross on it and then boom, building vaporized), convoys ect.

I'm planning to create a little...umh, well "propaganda" would be a best description for this project.

Remember I need link with D-load option.

For nobody, just for exercise of movie (or trailer coz it would be short 5 minutes movie) creation.

I choosed "propaganda" word coz it would be "western block/coalition" oriented (no bad gus exept on proper side of gun   )

Youtube don't have D-load option (as far as I know)
Does video google have it?


Edit: is there is a way to convert vidieo.google file (.gvp) into other movie format like (.avi)?

If you view the webpage source on youtube there should be a direct link to the file itself, or you should be able to extrapolate one. Someone with a bit more database / java savvy could post a method perhaps.

It was my understanding that Google had the ability to supply the file in numerous formats.

And YouTube converts everything to some kind of Flash hybrid that streams direct through their player.

I gave up with youtube, but I found that google.video is easy:
D-load .gvp file - it's olnly a text file nothing more - open it with notepad - there is a very long link - copy/paste to your browser and you can download it as .avi.
However those avis are weard coz you can't open them. It's simple to fix it. Get a freeware program called VirtualDUb, open your avi (I'll will open it without problem) then save it (don't forget to select compression coz if you save uncompresed your 5 mb file will be save as 160 mb monster).

I hope someone will make some use from my research. Anyway when I finish my little movie I'll post a link here.
