After the cinematic where the bastion explodes, the game just CTDs. Im going to see if this is a one-off or replictable.

Right after starting the game up again, heres the funny part.......

The game starts with the bastion cinematic again and immediately jumps to the briefing, then the last mission.

Very strange, why did it CTD then resume off like that?

FS2_Open does have some bugs in it and ones like that are the toughest ones to track down as they aren't reproducable.

As for why the Bastion cutscene played a second time you just need to look at the campaign file to realise that all the cutscenes in the game are set to be triggered when the next mission loads rather than when the previous mission finishes. As a result any time you replay a campaign mission that had a cutscene in front of it you'll get the cutscene played again

What you saw (Cutscene, red alert briefing, mission) is exactly what you would have seen without the crash. No bug there.

Yea i know it goes straight to the incoming transmission part. I meant that when i started the game up after it CTDed, it instantly jumped to the bastion cinematic(instead of the normal intro cinematic followed by the flight back), then jumped into incoming transmission part.

Btw i just checked, doesnt happen the 2nd time round.

I had a similar crash situation slightly earlier in the FS1 campaign.  After destroying the Eva and before defending the Galatea, if I remember correctly.

Anyways, no harm, no foul.  After starting up FSOpen again, it started me out at the incoming transmission screen.

I remember reading about a problem with red alert missions, but I can't seem to find the thread on here (the search function is being... difficult)

Either way, I know just the other day I was playing inferno and my comp CTD'd during a red alert mission also.
