Game Freezes at start of missions
I installed the babylon project on my laptop a few days ago and have tried playing it twice, both times with the same results.  The game loads and works fine at first.  Then about a minute into the game, as soon as I come into range of another ship, the game simply locks up.  After a few seconds, the screen goes blank, and I have to end task on the game to clear it.

I installed the game following the directions in the other thread (3.2->3.3->3.3a + OpenAL).

The computer is a Dell Latitude laptop with a Celeron M Processor and integrated intel graphics (it's all that I have for the summer).  After the game crashes, the following appears in the errorlog.txt file:

Go to the video tab of the launcher and choose OpenGL instead of D3D.

No one programs for D3D any more so the code has gotten pretty buggy. Stick to OpenGL which is updated on a weekly basis.

I'm getting this exact same problem and swapping from D3D to OpenGL doesn't seem to help. I get about 3 secs of play once i get ot a mission and then it freezes for 30secs, then another 3secs, etc etc. Sound is still going on but the game just comes to a complete pause otherwise.

Have just run the debug and at the end of it, before i had to ctrl-alt-del out, and it ended with this:

Btw here is the full fs stream, just in case. What else...i'm runnning on SLI-ed 7900s on an FX-2, XP, damn fine system basically. I've tried both OpenGL and D3D and there is no real difference, though i have found that the lockups do sometimes occur pre-mission, just not as quickly. I've tried with sound off as well and on and that doesn't seem to make any different either, nor does all features on / all features off. Oh yes, and i'm using fs2_open_367.exe

IIRC the Timer Rolled problem has been fixed a while back by Taylor.

A newer build should solve the problem but I can't remember if 3.6.9 RC 6 works with TBP.

You Sir are a complete stallion and more than owrthy of having my babies. I found and used fs2_open_Red_2005-12-22-P4_r.exe and, gosh-darnnit, if that doesn't work just perfectly.

Guess i'd better learn how to play the game now!
