Just an idea for now..project later depending on popular opinion

What does everyone think of creating a FS universe RPG? I mena old school like AD&D style..not computer. The simplest way would be create a conversion of WOC Starwars D20...unless you REALLY[/i] want to completely write the core rules

Thoughts? Idea worth going for? Or just another one of my "night having too much whiskey,..I've yet to totally sober up" ideas? :lol

That would be nice. Now all you got to do is try to make it apopular game and then get it past Interplay.

Get what past interplay? They've ...hmmm nothing to do with it

Simple..it's just like a FanFic, all this project would be is a netbook that gives guidelines and rules to usethe Star Wars D20 RPG set as a FS game.

Interplay would have no grounds for anything...it'd be like them coming after us for campaign and mod creation

Something like Aerotech would be cool. Heck, you could use Aerotech to make FS fighters now, if you had Aerotech (I don't)

From what I know Aerotech's just another side to the old Battletech ,..which was really just a board game on steroids

Great fun..but why take a computer flight simulator and make it into a board game simulator? The idea I've got is actually making a character,..he could be a fighter pilot,...a Marine,...Comm Officer,.whatever.

I'm in, if you make new rules. coz I have no RPG, and could not buy one to learn the rules.

I'm part of a Wing Commander mIRC online RPG at the moment... Just got promoted, actually.

But the rules could be easily adopted to FreeSpace, however the loadout options would be very simplified. The game is about rapid resolution and not the simulation detail of a computer game. But I digress.

I'll talk to one of the coordinators and see if they object to us borrowing their rules. Unfortunately, they have a program the host uses to calculate everything, and I am too junior to get access to it. However, I will bring the subject up today. Actually, I've thought about it before, but it was more of a blue sky idea.
