Catalyst 6.7 Drivers
Just in case anyone else is getting this, it would seem that the ATI Catalyst 6.7 drivers have issues with OpenGL and FS_Open:

It worked until you updated? You're using the same build?

Yep - I tried an older build and RC5, same problem.  Rolling back the drivers fixed it

I guess it's a good thing I haven't tried those drivers yet. A lot of people have been saying they suck for other reasons. Just stick with 6.6 for now (or 6.3 if you have a pre-X800 card).

After installing the ATI linux driver 8.27.10, the game freezes after starting it.

If I use the -env option the game freezes but if I add the -disable_fbo flag everything works just fine. I always played the game with -env (and no -disable_fbo flag) with the 8.26 driver.

Im using 9800 pro aswell, and get the same message except for one and only build. To which version did you rollback? 6.6? or which is best.

Actually, if you have an X850 or earlier card, my advisement would be the 4.12 Catalyst drivers UNLESS there is a specific patch to an application that adresses a problem that actually manifests itself under said 4.12 drivers. Never assume that because the release notes say that an issue was fixed in driver version BLAH that it was an issue that existed in ALL prior driver versions. 4.10 addressed issues for cards with or above 256mb of Ram (even though I personally never noticed an issue under pre-4.10 drivers) and 4.12 has been widely acclaimed for many older cards.

In my own personal testings on both a 9200 Pro and a 9600 XT, I've had nothing but problems with anything past 4.12. And that was before I discovered that alot of enthusiats preffered the 4.12's.

If you want to try the 4.12's but can't find them, PM me.

I rollbacked to 6.6 And all builds now work.

Dont know if there are any bugs. I only have an annoying ship generated sound sometimes, from allied ships.. going "krrkshrccchhchchc" all the time. Sucks :(
