Okay simple answer. What if that was where the jump node caused by collapsing capella went? That could get them into sol bypassing all the other systems.

As for why I can think of several reasons.

1) They listened on some level to Bosch

2) Revenge. They can`t stand to think that Earth was capable of preventing it's destruction

no..no...no...no...no. Im not going to say more, its suffice to say this has been ruled out in previvous discussions(mainly Snipe's one on the VWBB). In the BWO Section.
