There's still eighten hours in the day for left for Iran to do something, you know.
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

Yeah, I just woke up. *sings* "Give Armageddon a Chaaaaance!"

In all honesty, I'm not really truly expecting anything drastic to happen today. But on the flipside (sorry, buddy) of that, I'd not be too surprised if something did happen. We shall see.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

My friend traveled to Iran yesterday. I seriously hope nothing bad happens while he's in-country.

If we don't hear from you for 72 hours, we will assume that you are trapped with a handful of survivors fighting off mutated super-Hezzies and will mount an HLP rescue mission to get you back. If at all possible, try to mark your location by sending out smoke signals which form the word "Headz" in giant letters over Tel Aviv.

3:45pm here, and all's well. Of course, if Ahmedinenjad is planning on shining a great light upon Jerusalem, he'd probably do it at night...

...Aldo, where'd all yer avatars go? Didn't you used to have a couple?

The words you are reading might be your last. That is, if you believe the apocalyptic speculation of Internet surfers and Middle East analysts who claim that today Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hopes to spark the final conflagration in order to usher in the Islamic messiah.

Ahmadinejad is due Tuesday to deliver Iran's response to an international incentive program offered in exchange for the country curbing its nuclear program. The date, August 22, also marks the prophet Muhammad's ascension to heaven and coincides with Saladin's conquest of Jerusalem.

Bloggers were quick to jump on the connection and point to Ahmadinejad's own end-of-days inclinations, in which the Hidden Iman returns amidst the ultimate triumph of good over evil. According to the Iranian's president's beliefs, some of the virtuous on Earth can hasten that cataclysmic showdown.

But they weren't the only ones to make such cosmic links. No less than prominent Middle East scholar Bernard Lewis took note of Ahmadinejad's ideology and agenda in a Wall Street Journal op-ed titled "August 22: Does Iran have something in store?"

Why?

No reason for having them.  One was TVWP, whom I did bugger-all work for (sorry, lads), and the other was CoW, which isn't hosted here any more and doesn't even work in SCP (and wasn't that good anyways).

I hate to be a nitpicker, but the Siege of Jerusalem by Saladin doesn't begin until September 20.

The Patriot did next to nothing in the Gulf War (1991)... do Scuds qualify as "faster missles"?

Your lack of faith is disturbing. :p They've long since upgraded the Patriot to handle theater missiles. It was one of the first things on the to-do list in '92.

Although if you're really serious about it then you ought to be using SM-2 Block IV.
