I need a Herc Mark II !
{A ssuming particular humble attitude to obtain results}
Anyone...  I'm looking for a herc Mark II in anything either than low poly format. It will end up as LWO format.
Can anyone help?  Either than re building the damned thing from scratch.
I have the FS2 Herc II converted to lwo, but it looks like crap...       Not enough poly to look good enough.

Thanks  guys.

sorry...knackered and feeling a little agitated.

can't you just smooth the low poly model down with subdees and do some high poly work on the exposed machinery/detail areas and then get the rest done with some repainted texture maps?

that way you dont have to remodel the whole thing and it would only take a couple of hours.

I have already done that  but the time I have to spend texture mapping it I might as well re model the thing.
I mean it's not that complex, really. I'm just a little lazy  and there is something I wanted to do with several hundreds Hercs MK II.

 hehe
I made a Hrc MK III once I started remodelling the MK II which I think would be the natural progression from the current one.
Same goose neck but more streamlined sides. Better placement of the jet outlets and I kept the rudder on the lower hull. Still wondering how the thing lands,  so mine is retractable.

have fun,

Nhaaa, the texture mapping was such a quick job. The new version, if I could find it in the maze of my CD rom system, is waaaay better. And it has a pilot in it
Aerodynastheticly speaking,  flyes well. umm I just invented a new term   Meaning that it looks good banking, pitching, flying in a straight line. The design allows for some pretty nifty cam angles which allows you to see, as well as the cockpit, the rockeys ready for launch. It is also amongst one of my lowest poly models, 2300.  Still way too many for TS and FS2.

Nice, but two things: yeah, the maps are done quicly
on a fighter, at list if you use tiling try to have it symetrical
And this model completly breaks the herc trend: the vertical shaped fighter...

When I'll mod for I-war2 (which is not soon but probably when I've finished OtT), I'll make a better herc2 (with detailled cockpit and all), but it won't be as good as a render model of course.

Hey Couger.. if you ever made a high-poly version of a Herc2 in Lightwave, I'd be happy to have it    I use lightwave and I'm not all too happy with FS2's low poly models.
