The way I figure it, the US government is going to turn into an Orwell type "big-brother" totalitarian state and treat us all like cattle. If I thought there was something I could do about it other than wait for China to come and kill us all in our beds, I would. Unfortunately as I see it, I'm one person out of nearly 300 million, with no exceptional social skills, what am I going to do, other than whine? Besides, I'm going into computer forensics, I'll need to get a job somehow (hopefully a relatively uncorrupted local thing going after pedophiles and not a big, giant, scary, government organization going after John Smith, but I'm not burning any bridges if I can help it)

Whining is a start.  Whine properly - that is, don't insult people for being initially skeptical, don't 'push' your view in a way that makes you seem rigid and inflexible (i.e. that can lead to the impression you simply won't consider any other evidence in forming it), be nice and clear and concise, and above all respect that people can disagree even when you can calmly and rationally state a strong case - and you spread ideas.  Spread ideas, and you can affect change.

At least, in theory.  Of course, now the NSA will probably just cut any change-spreading calls off......

What I don't think anyone has addressed is that this case hasn't reached the Supreme Court yet. The final ruling on this issue is still up in the air, and given the current makeup of the Supreme Court, it's far from certain that they'll support this federal judge's decision.

it's funny how in spite of the administration haveing hand picked nearly a quarter of the supreem court justices the blatant unconstitutionalness of this is so obvius that there was no chance of this surviveing.
