Think Freelancer, but with a few minor changes. That, and voiceovers that sound like a bad translation. The demo isn't bad, but the terrible voice-work and blatant rip-offs from Freelancer just rub me the wrong way.

Edit: I've found it no problem in most of the stores I frequent. It's bloody 'Sword of the Stars' that nobody has listed. Damn, this is confusing.

You can say that one again... It's just that SotS has so low sys reqs that ingorant people think that its a bad game and it's not worth selling. That, and it's not first person shooter.

SotS is scheduled to hit Europe sometime September, so it's too soon to find the game from anywhere else except USA.

I know. And hopefully things will go better then. It is my experience that in Europe, and especially in Finland, games that require thinking (like SotS) sell better than in the simple and violent US of A. Games like Combat Mission and Silent Storm are virtually unknown out there.

No, it is a single-player game. I don't know if there's multiplayer at all. And best of all, there are modding tools available already from the devs. At the moment the tools only support writing of new missions and models and textures may be altered but no new ones added. I'm quite confident that more extensive modding will be possible later even if it requires fan-made tools.

I had to get my SotS copy from Gamer's Gate. Direct 2 Drive has... well.. done bad things with encryption and such.

What's with that main character, stupid weteared teenager with bright coloured jogging suit? At least Trent had some style, and a leather jacket. Anyway, tried the game. Looks promising, but I'm going to hold on for a while until I get me a new compootar. The asteroids really killed my rig during the frigging training. So it's down to the archives for that game.

got the DVD of the game and it rawks, although im afraid im gonna run out of artifacts before the ship is totally upgraded
