"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

No it's 62% violent. I'm not being picky here but it's an important distinction. I believe most media is violent to some degree and Pacman is no exception. If it were me I wouldn't try to measure such things as an exact percentage, but if I were forced to do it then the quoted figure sounds about right for Pacman.

Violent? Yep, I can see the horrible, horrible incidents that would follow a game of Pacman.

In other news, a middle-school child, after consuming a jumbo-sized marshmallow, proceeded to bite four classmates. When questioned, the child simply answered "wakka wakka wakka."

Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

Re: Pacman is 62% violentr
. I can see where you're coming from but it's what the game represents. Bullying and aggression. Remember it's only 62% violent. If Pacman were a real child who took ecstacy pills and ate other kids who were chasing him leaving only a pair of bloody eyeballs I think we'd be looking at something nearer the 100 mark.

Very hilarious.

The funny thing is: Pacman was created on the premise of being very non-violent, and to appeal to certain markets  who didn't like the Space Invader style shooters that were big at the time.

Actually if you looked at the study's methodology, that would be the exact same rating.

Incidently I always found the tv series to be, disturbing, maybe because I got a bad feeling everytime I saw Baby Pac Man eating what looked like pills, the so called "power pellets"... yeah, you just KNOW it had to be speed or something. What infant can keep up with adults at a run, never mind floatign ghosts?

Hunter S. Thompson would like to have a word with you

I kinda doubt he'd have much to say, tho, seeing as the last conscious action he did was performing a brain transplant on himself with a firearm.
