Now it's Apple's turn
To get its batteries recalled

I think the battery recalls are the symptom of another problem. Let's face it guys, Li technology has reached it's safe limits (or has come pretty damn close). The new portable video cards, hard drives, memory, processors are power hogs to some degree or another. We need new battery technology, and we need it soon.

"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

he will become docile after that,

Isn't there already a hugely expensive laptop with HD replaced with flash memory and power supplied by fuel cells?
There are three things that last forever: Abort, Retry, Fail - and the greatest of these is Fail.
