Though I guess hanging around in trees all day eating eucalyptus isn't as cool as ripping small-to-medium mammals apart with your collosal jaws of death.

One of my favorite quotes about koalas remains "Everyone thinks koalas are cute. Until they see the MASSIVE FRIGGIN' CLAWS it's using to hold onto the tree with."
"Load sabot. Target Zaku, direct front!"

"Take my love. Take my land. Take me where I cannot stand. I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me. Take me out to the black, tell them I ain't comin' back. Burn the land boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me. There's no place I can be since I've found Serenity. But you can't take the sky from me." - Ballad of Serenity

Hm.  I was expecting that scene in Happy Gilmore with the golf teacher, Abe Lincoln, and the crocodile, but replacing the golf teacher with Steve Irwin.

Whilst the timing could have been better, I was oddly enough having a discussion earlier about how much our own Media's need for 'reality TV' had contributed to this. Steve Irwin made the choice himself, theres' no doubt about that, but he made the choice to pander to the public love of 'Thrill TV', and that kind of media has led to people's death on more than one occasion.

Well she is kinda right. The fact no one was surprised he died kinda proves that.

Keep in mind that he was also a rabid enviromentalist.

In 2003 she criticized J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy for attracting “spaced-out hippies, environmentalists, free-market libertarians, social conservatives, pacifists, new-age theosophists, sexists and racists the world over.”

"Your efforts to interdict me have failed, papacy. Pentagon, engage propaganda drive."
"Now, Protestant scum, you will see the power of this fully armed and operational Papal Station!"

Germaine Greer is a self publicising *****. The sooner the sexist old cow drops dead the happier I'll be.

This latest comment about Steve Irwin merely confirms what I've been thinking about her for a very long time.

Jesus, that last one is nuts. When what is supopsedly the most venomous snake in the world goes up to him and starts licking his face. He had rare courage. Personally, I would have either crapped my pants and fainted, or tried to run and probably been bitten.

So, in other words, the entire political spectrum?

I knew LOTR had pretty broad appeal, but I didn't know anyone had done a detailed analysis of it...

Somehow she managed to group Gandhi, Hitler, George W Bush, Princess Diana, Al Gore, and Mother Teresa, all in the same sentence, while describing a movie that none of them have ever seen. (Well, maybe Al Gore)

I'm assuming he was too busy being president. (I'm also assuming that Hitler didn't hitch a ride with one of the dozens of time travelers 'accidentally' stopping by Nazi Germany and see LOTR, but I digress)

Whilst that is an interesting topic, I believe it is negated by the fact that Germaine Greer is a chisel faced bint, and we'd all be best taking the diametric opposite of any opinion she spouts out her flapping antipodean* yapper.

*no insult intended to other antipodeans

LOL True, the fact that, by sheer fluke, she grazed a valid discussion doesn't make her any less of a crazed old fruitbat ;)
