Man I hate them (not just because I'm not one of them, too). 

Where I live, the average "popular" kid maintains about a 2.8 to 3.3 GPA me " hey look! some obsidian!" them: "why are you going around talkin about plants [obsidian is not a plant] or something?" . It seems like every time I go out to mow the lawn, there they are, swarming all over the place bugging the hell out of you: "who'd you get for homeroom?" "whats up?" "what'cha doing? Why are you doing that?" "what are you wearing tommarow?" .

 Just because they can't do it well, they morphed playing a musical insturment that isn't purcussion into something bad.

 Also, just because except for AOL, they aren't computer literate "hey I was trying to install a game, and that thing [autoplay] didn't pop up when I put the CD in. How do I install it?" Me (out of no where) "View the CD in Powerdesk or windows explorer and run setup.exe" "Hey, where not all computer geniuses, so don't excpect us to know how to do that" ] , so they morphed playing any games or anything on the computer into a bad thing.


I can think up a dozen more things to throw at them, but I'll wait until one of 'ems actually around to hear.









 



EDIT: notice to all: I am in between eigth grade and high school; I am still in (late) summer brake. It's just that I just noticed this when someone at teh place where I got my schedual was being made fun of. {cough cough cough ray cross cough cough coguh} {hack} {cough up plegmh}

There are some people I just don't associate with unless absolutely necessary.
The best thing in the world is self confidence, have enough of that, and you can make any body doubt themselves. It's awsome.

As for them asking questions, you could just take the ultra geeky approach and snort and laugh how one's technological knowledge far exceeds what their puny miniscual brain could possibly understand. Or just give a friendly, brief, non-techy answer. Like "I believe you just click on 'My Computer -> CD-Drive -> and try and find a Setup.exe' mate." Then if they make a smart ass comment you stand immediately, slam your fist on the table and go "Well don't bloody well ask for answers you don't want moron." And briskly walk away and never speak to them again.

Sounds pretty normal and not at all bad.  When they get really personal and whatnot...thats bad.

Tolerate their ignorance, laugh with them if you have to, most of them are nice people trying to do their best to fit into the social norm thats layed out infront of them.  A few are folks you should avoid but most of them are the typical people you run into every day for the rest of your life.

But it gets better.  Particularly around the time you go off to university.  Things open up more.

I got lucky in my school, at least here the jerks are smarter than the average jerk, and airheads are (almost) nonexistant. My solution: I just act normal, and if anyone has a problem with it, I ignore 'em. Trust me, ignoring them works far better than any reaction you can give them.

Don't know what to tell you about them talking to you when you mow the lawn, because

A) it's really hot and dry here so no one bothers to keep a lawn.

B) No other students (of any age) live within ten blocks. I'm all alone out here....

Also, high school is much much better than middle school. People improve by leaps and bounds. I've known perhaps three mid-school boys who weren't complete idiots (no offense intended to any mid-schoolers on these forums), but by contrast, there are only about three high school kids I can think of that are complete idiots.

Yeah. At University, I discovered that I can fit in to almost any group of people, from the airheads to the pot-smokers to the Uni sysadmins.

Today the school's internet went down (our program shares a building with a middle school) and I had several of the foreign teachers ask me "Can you fix the internet?" I always tell them that is the school's problem, not ours. It is not in my jurisdiction.

One of them (who lives in an apartment way off campus) asked me "If the internet isn't working here, can I use it at home?"

Dealing with people who have absolutly no ****ing clue how technology works is part of my new job description.

I just ignore people I don't like. I act the way I want and if people don't mind it, then that's just about fine with me.

Basically, the way I act here on HLP and the internet is the way I am in real life.

Arrogance is only arrogant if you use the Self-Belief for evil, On that note, BAck in my sixth form days, Amidst all the a-hols i m it course ( i was a sport freak too dont get me wrong, but i didnt fork out £120 for Nikes cos i thought they were crap, I was just out to get fit, not fit a stereotype) The A-holes were there for the almighty belief that they would get rich, My venerable B-List group would help em out until they tried to plug a keyboard into a power socket at wich point we'd leave em to sink.

6th-8th grade would be middle school.

As for GPA's... heh, I know mine's good, but I don't know the cut-off between good and fail.

It depends what scale your school use. My high school used a 3.0/6.0 scale (the 6.0 scale was for students who took lots of Advanced Placement classes). 2.0 is a C average; 3.0 is a B average; 4.0 is a A average. I was never quite sure what was going on with the 6.0 scale.

Hmm.  All the people I know are nice!  lol.  There's a couple asshats here and there, but for the most part, i'm friendly with everybody. 

And as far as gpa goes, if it goes on a 4.0, well..... 4.0 is good.  *looks at my gpa*
