Some people, myself included, are at that stage in all seriousness. It's been five years. I no longer see the need for such large scale grief. Rememberence day is one thing, to remember millions who died in a long war. 9/11 is just one terrorist act. Spectacular, terrifying to some Americans, but still just another attack. It shouldn't be given any credence.

I seriously don't care.

I wouldn't go that far.

Re: Five Years Have Passed...
The world of 5+ years ago has drastically changed. Think about it.

Oh, and if all you have to say is "I don't care", then pardon the unusual ferocity, but shut the hell up.
SERIOUSLY...! | {The Sandvich Bar} - Rhino-FS2 Tutorial | CapShip Turret Upgrade | The Complete FS2 Ship List | System Background Package

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Agreed. It may not be significant to the rest of the world, but to Americans, this being the third attack on their soil in history (1812, Pearl Harbor included), and it being on such a huge scale makes it significant. Plus, like LGM said, this wasn't just 'one terrorist attack'; that's just like saying Archduke Ferdinand was just 'one guy who got shot.' This event has shaped the world, for better or for worse.
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

No, the consequences of allowing the act to be used for political gain can be seen every day, in television or otherwise.

And I'm from the United Kingdom.

Yes the world has changed. We're even further from capturing U/Osama than ever. Pissing away resources in Iraq has made that a racing certainty - which incidentally means we destabilised one of the few secular regimes in the region. The US has made every attempt to cripple the UN. Both the US and the UK have moved towards police states...

And it all comes back to the consequences as I stated in the the first paragraph of this post. It was not the act itself, but the exploitation of the public perception of the act that has led us here.

Fourth, actually. You forgot the first attack on the WTC.

Edit: Where's an0n when you need him? :doubt:

Re: Five Years Have Passed...
All politicizing aside...

That day changed so much for people, not just in the U.S.A.

What I have chosen to remember the most is how so many people were able to put aside all the little things that we usually argue about and let divide us and we were just able to be united and suppotive of each other.

That, for me, was the hope rising from the ashes of the towers: hope for what is good in humanity.
What we perceive is more a reflection of ourselves than of our environment.

Okay, NOW your disjointed method of replying to posts is starting to cause problems. First of all, I'm Scottish and either way I'd refer to them as British soldiers; Secondly, What things exactly are you talking about? Do you even understand the point I'm making? And where did these soldiers die, precisely?
