Like I am going to allow some random java and 3rd party player to do whatever they please. I'm probably not going to miss much.

Yeah, I checked out the Vividas player ages ago, when BigAd was around. It's harmless, and truly one of the best-behaved media experiences I've ever seen.

Anyway, this thing doesn't hold a match to BigAd. :p
