Did any one else ever open up the ships.tbl and notice that the Cain is supposed to be able to hold fighters. I was just thinking about why they never had it carry fighters.
The exact line says:
;; I added in this Strike Cruiser because I needed a ship besides the Cruiser, one that had docking
;; bays.  This is a strike cruiser, it's faster and can hold ships, but at the expense of hull.

I think in FS1 it was originally supposed to, but it never appeared anywhere on the model. Maybe that is just my imagination........

How the hell have you attributed that comment to the Cain when it is between the Lilith and Rakshasa entires? Unless it's somewhere different in the FS1 table entry?

It's possible they meant literal docking bays, as in dock points.  C.f. the mission where you capture the Taranis.

Because the docking ports were replaced with armor. Thus making it the thoughest little irrumator in the galaxy.

Additionally,the Lilith could be built 100% for combat and lack on docking/maintain fighters or bombers capabilities.
