-Open VPMage.
-Press "File" button.
-Find appropriate directory for saving the thing.
-Write the whole file name to where it's supposed to be written. Remember to include *.vp filetype extension.
-Press Save.
Now you have the empty VP file and you can actually build it.
-In the upmost row in the window, there's three buttons: "File...", "Dir..." and "Add Source".
-First you have to select your source file/directory in order to add it into VP. So press the "Dir..." button.
-Most likely if you want to create a single mod VP, the directory would be ..\Freespace2\<Arbitrarymod>\
data\.
-Select the appropriate "data" directory and press OK. The path appears into the "Source Filename" text window.
-Now press "Add Source" button.
The file structure starting from ..\data should now appear into the Preview window. Check that the "root directory", or the first directory in the Preview list, is indeed "data", and all the subfolders and stuff is intact.
Now you can build the VP. So... press the "Build VP" button.
Oh, and when you quit the program, you must first close the window, then open Task Manager, find the process "VPMage.exe" and end the process manually.
If you skip this, the process will reside on your process lists. At least that's what happens on my PC.
