I have Freespace 1 and 2 along with silent threat but with the port do I even need to install the original game or am I simply installing all of these Freespace 1 port files directly to Freespace 2 and playing through Freespace 2 as an alternate campaign offered within Freespace 2 options?

If you have the port you don't need to install FS1. If you have the CDs you can save yourself from having to download the cutscenes though. Simply copy them into the folder you install the port in.

No, just stick them in your Freespace2 folder.

although for some strange reason, although I don't have any files in my Freespace2 folder, the FS1 into movie always plays whenever I start FSO, and it's in my FSPort directory. :wtf:

I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. I could only imagine the GTVA warriors giving a mighty KIAAIIIIIII shout as they worked their triggers, their biceps bulging with sinew after years of Ivan Drago-esque steroid therapy and weight training. - General Battuta

I have long since ceased to be amazed at your ability to generate weird errors Cobra :p

Either you're running the FS1port without realising it or you've copied those movies (either as avi or mve) to the wrong folder. Cause it's definitely not reading them from the FS1port folder without you telling it to do so.
