Sandwich, you're my new hero.   In four scenes you brought back every shred of what I felt when I played that Freespace demo for the first time. Like Setekh, I think your use of fonts to set the mood is brilliant.

Rereading the Ancients' monologues now, in light of the 'Shivan Sociology' thread here on the boards, you really do get the feeling that the Shivans aren't the dark evil enemy they are made out to be. Dark, deadly, remorseless, but not evil. They are just full of righteous wrath.

I'm adding all of these to my list of random backgrounds for my machine here at work. *heh*

Well, I think I'm finally satisfied enough with #5 to post it here. Originally it was missing... something. I asked around for opinions, and after playing around with it quite a bit I think I managed to elimainate whatvever it was that had been bothering me... :sheepish grin:

Oops - Setekh, the version you saw was a mistake; there was a layer that wasn't supposed to show that was showing (which, incedentally, made the node harder to see). It's updated to the correct one, now.
