Is it possible to make the primary weapons fire the way they do in the old x-wing game? like the link weapons, but then to link-unlink the beams of one bank?

Sorry, unlike Star Wars, you can't cycle your lasers, but you don't really need to. The way you can "link" the weapons is to cycle them to have them both on, or one of them on, cycling through those options. Really, if you think about it, you don't need to cycle the lasers, due to the fact that they don't consume enough energy for them to need to do that, and you lose time cycling through the lasers. When an X-Wing cycles through the lasers, the lasers are weaker. In Freespace, the lasers don't need to do that simply because it's inefficient.

FSwiki.... "cycle" flag for the weapon. With that they fire 'unlinked'. Though changing back to 'linked' fire may be harder to so.
