how the hell do you people not remember this?!?

My thoughts exactly.
SERIOUSLY...! | {The Sandvich Bar} - Rhino-FS2 Tutorial | CapShip Turret Upgrade | The Complete FS2 Ship List | System Background Package

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Or focusing on other important events in late 2005, like that storm that completely wiped out an American city.
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

They had ample time to move out. They had a week's notice. They simply didn't move out of the way. Besides, who's stupid enough to live UNDER SEALEVEL??? It's a waste of resources IMHO to rebuild New Orleans. It's just going to get hit by another hurricane a few years down the road and have to be reconstructed again. The levys also needed to be worked on, they were ancient and breaking down. New Orleans all but asked for Katrina to hit and devastate the area. Sorry, but Katrina was the cause of many years of ignorance.

anyway, back on topic....

Well, if you're going be on about stupidity, they really ought to let the Mississippi take its natural course and just build a canal to the lake rather than forcing it to run past the city. That would have helped.

Or perhaps the original settlers might have demonstrated a little more forethought and not built a major city on a ductile foundation.

"Hey Joe, if we build here, won't the city sink below sea-level in a hundred years or two?"
"Y'know who'd be great at dealing with that? Future Joe."
