I too hate hornets. In the past three months, my house has been infested (luckily, twice in the shed, once just outside the house). The f***ing little buggers don't go away, even when you spray the ENTIRE FRIGGIN' NEST with wasp killer!!!

Also, the nastiest wasp I know of is the Tarantula Wasp, which injects the Tarantula with eggs. When the eggs hatch, the little wasps eat the Tarantula from the inside out.  :ick:

Mozzies must die.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

I saw we lock all the Mozzies, Wasps and Hornets into one room, let them fight it out, and then go in there with Flamethrowers, just to prove that Humanity pwns them all ;)

With our luck, they will probably evolve into one super-insectoid species and we'll just get an excellent scene combining Hallfight, "Alien" and "The Fly"... :shaking:

We could try an alternate plot. Natural enemies of hornets and wasps. Like, dragonflies and such. But anyway - I actually find mosquitoes and especially blackflies to be far, far worse than wasps, or even hornets. Anyone who claims anything to the contrary has never encountered a proper swarm of mosquitos or blackflys.

Here's a teaser of what's it like when you simply have to spend time in a mosquito-infested area and you cannot escape... It is not a pleasant feeling at all. :ick:

Yeah, I hate Mosquitoes more than anything.  If you hold still long enough, they fly around your ears and you can hear them.

The really annoying thing about hornets is that they're smart enough to realize what direction the water's coming from when you smack their nest down with the garden hose. Wasps don't do that. Bees don't either.

That's because you don't use water on a hornet's nest.  You use pure cleansing napalm.

Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.

Did the same thing with the aforementioned shed. The problem is that if you don't get all of them, one little wasp goes out and finds more wasps to make yet another nest. That's why I had 3 consecutive nests in 3 months....

I would, but they wouldn't give the AD-1 to deploy it.

After watching that video from the previous page, I can so imagine the last surviving Honey Bee flying that.

Oh! The Humanity!   :P

You know, people who react whenever they get around wasps and bees and stuff, they're more likely to get stung than those who move away from it, or slowly avoid it's flightpath.  Just be cool, and they probably won't even notice you.

I've imagined that before....

If I were to say I "like" any of the bugs in this general area, I would say I like YellowJackets.  They don't have the temper of the others and they seem to be somewhat intelligent.  Except when they get caught in those ingenious traps.

Yellowjackets are the ones that I've gotten stung by. :p Each time it's hurt less, though.
