They simply tell you how many posts you've made, and the little number underneath your name is the nearest Base 2 representation.

Actually it's the nearest as long as you're rounding either down or up (I forget which), not whichever is nearest.

Yeah, it rounds down, mine hit 13 once I passed 8192, it'll go up again at 16384, which is a while to go ;)
