Odd yet plausible idea......
I dunno if i spelled the title right, but..........

I've heard of WW2 in space, i've heard of a martian mod for FS2, but lets talk about something that ALMOST happened: Cold War in space! I mean, like UN forces against Russia, China, Vietnam and whatnot...... The UN support ship could be something like a space shuttle, the UN arcadia substitute could be the (completed  ;)) International Space Station (ISS) the main russian fighter can look like the first Sputnick............ What does everyone else think?

Re: Odd yet plausible idea......
What, a Pre-Unification Era campaign? Hmmm.... well, it would be fun, but I hope you're really good a modelling ships cause I don't think a full range of fighters exists for that time period.

Also, you'd need to create weapons... maybe even an older-looking interface... just for authenticity, you know.

Re: Odd yet plausible idea......
I'm thinking about the period of FS1, but no Shivans.... the communist broke off from earth a long time ago, and a smoldering civil war is about to erupt..... the first campaign will be centered around the UN makng a secret weapon..... first mission is when a ship carrying vital supplies for the project is captured, and the rest of the campaign is following the UN's attempts to stop the communist from making a much more unstable version of the technology.... (they get the specs from spies that you try and stop at one point) I think i could make more and more chapters.......  ;7

Mabe i can have MY idea of pulse cannons, gattling guns for fighters (unlimited ammo  :D ) maybe even.....no....... it wouldn't work..... what the HECK!!!!!!!! Maybe i should have the ship that has destroyable tanks that hold the gasses for the weapon..... make it one big UNSTABLE bomb.... :drevil:

Pulse weapons will be UN only... make 'em pretty good but make 'em..... ummmm........ everywhere!!!!!!  :pimp:

Hmm... but by FS1 the Terran race was united against the Vasudans.

You do realize that the Terrans left Sol in 2312, barely six years before meeting the Vasudans. Not long at all. So if you're doing a big war before the Terrans met Vasudans, then you won't be finding many jump nodes to use...

Bah. Just play or port Starlancer. The plot lines are pretty much the same. :p

Hell with the vasudans, they'll come in later...... and get their *** kicked! kinda.........

Edit: has anyone ever considered turning a scaled down aten (turrets removed) into a fighter? I mean, that little nook (look at it in fred) would make a great place for a cockpit bulge.....

DySkO has planne dosmething similar but because of lack of modelling abilities this project is no-progress. We wanted to make space versions of modern aircrafts, modifying them a bit.

The solution to the problem is X-Plane.Import modern aircrafts to TrueSpace and modify them.
