philippines was just ceded to usa per treaty of paris in 1899 and by phil. bill of 1901 we had our fundamental law and we were only under american occupation
til 1935 when our commonwealth government was born
and in 1945 we had full phil. independence

and the americans had their bases here until last decade when our unruly senators kicked out these bases
