After weeks of looking...I found it!
ah.....finally...a place where a morally obsessed-with-freespace fan like me can finally hang out with other fans on a website! (it's really been 3 weeks, since i'm horrible at searching the internet, and i hate google) So anyway, before i waste your time, i should get to  know this website and community by asking a few simple questions:

How do i put avatars (personal character pictures for the few of you that may not know) on my profile, or can you even do that here?

Can i put pictures in my sig? if so how?

Any important things i should know?

Any important members i should take note of?

Any rules or advisories i should know?

What features or downloads i should get? (i already heard of the SCP and got it)

Anything hosted on the website i should check out?

Anything i missed you want me to know?

well sorry for bombarding you with questions like a sathanas but i'm just curious. Thanks in advance
Fun while it lasted.

you can't

Can i put pictures in my sig? if so how?

again, no

Any important things i should know?

read karajorma's FAQ before asking anything

Any important members i should take note of?

an0n

Any rules or advisories i should know?

don't ask about FS3 or Derek Smart. Check thread dates before replying. Read Karajorma's FAQ.

What features or downloads i should get? (i already heard of the SCP and got it)

If you got the latest SCP exe, also get the latest media VPs and some good campaigns. Derelict, Homesick, and Sync are some good ones to start with.

To quickly awnser ya,

8. If republican, or *gasp* conservative, Stay out of political threads. </sarcasm> Just don't be arrogant.

And honestly, Don't go around talking about ideas for a future Freespace installment.  There's been many threads posted, and if you feel inclined, search for them.  You'll see how some of us react.

Re: After weeks of looking...I found it!
LOL, I feel sorry for any Canadian after listening to "America:The Book.  The Audiobook" with Jon Stewart.  There's some pretty funny little snippets in there where someone acts as a Canadian and compares their political system against America's political system.  I don't mean to poke fun, but I just remember that whenever politics and Canada is spoken in the same sentence.  It's about the only political humor I've actually liked though.

So yeah! Didn't mean to derail this thread too!

Re: After weeks of looking...I found it!

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Honestly. :p

:welcome:

Exits are to your right and left, and flamethrowers are under your seat. Be careful, though, as they are sometimes filled with water. If this is the case, try to club someone with the non-working shotguns in the weapon closet. Also, be careful while wandering the ventilation shafts, because sometimes Carl the Shivan lurks in there. If you happen to come across him, just toss him your lunch and hope that it satisfies him. If it doesn’t… pray. In the event of an emergency, you can and will be used as a flotation device.  The Plasma rifles in the forward locker are released only under authorization of an Admin, [V] God, and/or hyperintelligent shade of the color blue. Finally, don't call Kalfireth Thunder. He doesn't like to be reminded of his former schizophrenic personalities.

Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

Any important things i should know?

Well, each new person here is required to make a new campaign with a good story about the war against the shivans or vasudans, complete with 25+ missions, new ships, new weapons, etc, etc...

And it needs to be done in less than 2 months.

Don't listen to him...I tried that.  Seven years later and I'm still not finished :D

No really...

Its all about the feature creep. "Well we'll just add an extra ship here, and oh...one more mission.  I swear!"

Re: After weeks of looking...I found it!

Disabled, yet much less appealing now than back some time ago when they showed project membership.

Can i put pictures in my sig? if so how?
Nope, generally long/sizeable ones get annoying, color is ok if used in moderation (look up Colonel Dekker for an example of what NOT to use)

Any important things i should know?
Best not mention the continuation of the FreeSpace series, for a good explaination, look up karajormas faq and read through the really old posts

Any important members i should take note of?
Me. :p
karajorma, Taristan, Flipside, the admins, an0n, just dont go by postcount alone because that would have you placing much weight in the words of cobra and co... forum age is typically pretty useful

Any rules or advisories i should know?
Really just FS3 and that it shouldnt be discussed... That and run a search before making a new topic in Gen FS, because theres a high likleyhood its been discussed at length (dont bump it!)

What features or downloads i should get? (i already heard of the SCP and got it)
any of the releases from hosted projects, off site projects and stuff (look for skippy's campaign list)

Anything hosted on the website i should check out?
most of it, except due to recent server moves the website itself is a shadow of what it used to be, so go off the highlights and forums mostly

Anything i missed you want me to know?
thats probably the most of it actually
