Now I'm not one to usually post "oh look at this cool thing I found on the Intertubes" topics, but this just rocks. Apparently it's a life recording of some people who are highschool students rocking the Halo theme. I seem to remember reading somewhere that they played this for the school, which is certainly a hell of a lot better than the usual stuff you find at highschool talent shows.

Personally, I think that a)the song itself kicks ass and b)the fact that it's being done, and well, by people in highschool, while their peers probably couldn't find Canada on a map, is awesome.

I like the tetris song much better than the Halo theme. In fact, I like it so much, I am writing a tetris sax quintet right now.

Actually, say what you want about the game, but I personally think that Marty O'Donnell is a genius.  An excellent composer.  Did you guys know he wrote both the Flinstones Kids vitamins jingle and the Mr. Clean jingle?  Interesting.

The Halo theme is music.  It's unique music for a video game, actually, since it uses strings as its primary voice, rather than digital or techno instruments.  It also sounds reminiscent of Lord of the Dance, which makes it kind of cool.
