Re: What browser do YOU use?
Righty...

I use Opera at home, on both Linux and Windows. My Tablet PC uses Opera too, but for some reason Firefox is still bound as the default browser for URLs in IRC.

At work, Opera behaves strangely and suffers frequent slowdowns. I suspect this is because we store all user data on a network drive and Opera stores its cache there. Therefore, I use Firefox at work.

The software I develop at work runs mainly on IE. The HTML/Javascript supports Firefox but the ActiveX stuff needs IE. Therefore, testing the software requires that I use IE.

Since Opera's the only one I use by choice, that's what I voted for.

Re: What browser do YOU use?
If the KDE browser (Konqueror) is in the poll, then should by all rights be Safari (OSX), Camino (OSX) and Epiphany (Gnome) browsers too. :p

Re: What browser do YOU use?
Konqueror is really good... but it doesn't match up to Firefox.

Re: What browser do YOU use?
I have noticed that firefox doesnt open up as fast as opera, nor does it load pages as fast, and like previously said, the zoom on firefox is messed up. Firefox seems to have a cap or something on downloads because Opera downloads stuff quite a bit faster.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

It varies highly from website to website. Firefox has had the majority over IE for many months now - on techie websites, that is. On sites that service the general public, without any specific tendency for the visitors to be more or less technically inclined (such as Google or CNN), Firefox is around 15% IIRC.

Re: What browser do YOU use?
I use IE 6 or 7, AOL Explorer (basically IE), and, (most of the time!), FireFox
Must-have extentions for FireFox:
FlashGot - allows you to use almost any 3rd-party download manager, or your normal FireFox downloader, your choice.
FasterFox - the name says it all
All-in-One Sidebar - a sidebar control, inspired by Opera's
IE Tab - Kiss IE goodbye (if you want) when using Windoze Update (although you will actually be using IE's engine inside one of Firefox's tabs)
MR Tech Local Install - allows you to install from local .xpi files, disable annoying 3-sec delay, hack version checks (careful!), ...
Update Notifier - notifies you of updates for extensions and themes, can be configured to automatically install them, among other things.
PDF Download - allows you to download or open .PDF files, instead of automatically just opening them.

Also of interest:
NoScript - allows you to control which website are allowed to execute scripts - very handy, when you allow your favorite site, but not its ad sponsor, if their ads are just that annoying.
ShowIP - Show the IP address of the current page in the status bar.
Flashblock - replaces flash objects with a button you can click if you really do want to see the object.
Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer - Synchronizes your bookmarks if you use different machines, using the web.
User Agent Switcher - Adds a menu and a toolbar button to switch the user agent of the browser.

So basically only people who know anything about computers use firefox?
