So thinking about getting this....
...and several questions occured to me:

Is this mod completed (i'm oblivous so sorry)?

does it include the whole story of the game it was based off of?

i saw it as standalone, but i see the "toggle babylon project features" flag in fs open. does that meen it isint standalone?

thanks in advance

Re: So thinking about getting this....
- It isn't completed, it never will as there is always something that could be developed. That said, the next TBP release is likely to be the last official one.
- TBP is not based on a game, it is based on two TV-series and 5 movies by J. Michael Straczynski, third series is in development.
- TBP is standalone, it does not need original FS2.

Re: So thinking about getting this....
-so does that meen there wont be like a ending or something to the story?

-so does that meen i gotta find out the whole story for myself?

-i know it is standalone, but can i still use it with SCP with the "toggle bablyon project" features flag enabled?

Re: So thinking about getting this....
The basic purpose of that particular launcher flag is so ships will generate different colored warp effects, depending on whether their arriving or departing.  From what I know, that's all it does.  Enabling this flag for playing standard freespace is pointless, since there's no 2nd warp effect to use.

Re: So thinking about getting this....
TBP installs into a seperate folder within Program files, you can upgrade it to use the latest build of the SCP but the only relationship to this and FreeSpace2 is that they use the same game engine, If you want I suppode you could try and keep things neater by trying to install it as a mod by putting all the necessary files into a seperate folder in the Freespace2 root folder, that would minimise the duplication of the game engine on your hard disk, but it wouldn't save you that much in disk space IMO.

At the moment the TBP team creates only the ships and all the stuff, but not the missions.
But there are many campaigns created b other people (just check the "Heat 'em up" website, recently announced in this forum for some).

And there are many endings to the story of B5. For example with an erlier release of TBP came a mini-campaign about the Earth-Minbari war (which was later adapted for the newest builds).
And while it is the end of this story line, that story took place 10 years before the actual storyline of the Babylon 5 TV series.
After the series was completed after 5 years, JMS produced 5 films and a spinnoff series called Crusade.
At the moment he is working on something new again, in the Babylon 5 universe.

While there are many storylines that have an ending, there is still room for more stories, so in a way there will never be an end.
Like George Lucas said (or quoted?) in the "making of" of the Special Edition of Star Wars "Art is never finished, only abondend".

Re: So thinking about getting this....
There is an excellent official campaign for TBP, it is called Raider Wars and it rules. Exellent missions, compelling storyline AND it has an ending. It doesn't use all the features of the latest base release, because it was originally developed for, like, Base 2.* or something?

Too bad if you can't download it. :sigh:

Re: So thinking about getting this....
Wait. Hold the phone here. When did JMS start developing a third B5 series? I know he was trying for a feature film, but told WB to piss off when they wanted an all new cast, but how the hell could he have time for a new series what with all his work on Amazing Spider Man and Supreme Powers?

I hope events of the new series are set after Invoking Darkness because Galen at that time is badass. :)

Aside from that goofy thumbs up thing in the credits and the daft name - Galen was always cool!
