Right, so this looks like a cool mod, and im wondering how I can install, or even if I can. What do I need to download? Where does it need to go? I've got FS2 Retail and the SCP mod with a mediavps folder. Thanks for the help.

Go to: http://inferno.hard-light.net/R1.htm

Download the single file installer version of Inferno R1 from FilePlanet AND the SCP patch. (135 MB and 16.5 MB respectively.)

Install the 135 MB main release - place the Inferno files in a new folder (calledl it 'INFR1' or something similar) inside of your current FSSCP folder.

Ex: The path may be C:\Games\FreeSpace2\INFR1.

Then, run the patch and extract the files into the same INFR1 folder.

You're set! Run your SCP Launcher and select the INFR1 folder as your MOD.

And look forward to INF SCP and INFA2.

Or you could take a look at the FreeSpace Open Installer; this post may help if you can't figure it out from the first one.
The FreeSpace Open Installer website ( http://www.fsoinstaller.com )has info on what Mods are supported to install.

EDIT:  Never mind, I'm dumb.. the FSO Installer doesn't have Inferno yet... have to bug the Inf team about that, I guess... Could'a swore that it did, but...  the Installer does have a nice list of MODs for playing after you get done with Inferno!  ;)

Alliance Core, Music Files, Inferno Core and Inferno Effects. And the HTL Pack for high-poly models.

Well I started FS2 SCP with the mod put in, I started the campaign, which only took me to a mission in the main campaign after several errors popped up, not sure what to do now.

Snail confused him by telling him to go get Inferno alliance files when he was just looking to install Inferno.

Did you download the patch?

Correct, And yes I did download the files that he said, I also installed the actual game as well. I'll re-install the patch.

Edit: Guess what? Re-installed the patch, works like a charm.

Don't do that... just review your post afterwards, and if you goofed, smack yourself over the head, like this:
