I'm worried about the recent (20-year) past. After all, Windows has been pretty much gravitating towards user-obsequious GUI and ridiculous marketing since its inception, and both the present and the future are built on the past.
Where will it be in another 20 years? ACT NOW if you want general-purpose PCs to remain dominant over specialised, overpriced 'media centers' (aka. a PC doing the work of DVD player) and toasters playing the Microsoft Sound(TM).
