Silly? Yes. But that doesn't matter. FS2 seems to be winning, and that's the side I take simply because I can't get D3 to run multiplayer properly anymore.

It's completly biased, but anyway: someone to tell this guy  (blue thing) how many different kinds of nuke and antimater weapons there is in FS, and the fact that ammo based weapons are supposed to do nohing to FS shields?

Bah! MW4 v.s. Tribes 2? Heck in the Tribes 2 plot they mention how teams take down HERCs which are like Mechs but with more armor, shield generators, and much higher speeds

It's funny how no forum argument, however trivial, ever arrives at consensus, conclusion, or even the introduction of new facts... basically these guys have been rephrasing their first few posts over and over again... if I could be bothered to become a member, I'd love to introduce the fact that a Ravanna in a nebula could burn half these D3 boys in an instant, as could about 30 Alastors in a blockade... but then they'd just say something stupid about their treasured Blackshark. Ah well.

How fast those ships are? damn, even the phoenix is slow, if you out it in open space like it is in freespace. Sniping a fs2 ship with the big gun (don't remember the name), is fairly impossible, it seems there's no newby in D3, but FS2 guys are all newbies that fly straight, like begging to be killed. All those weapons on the pyros, it's great, but first, it's not realistic, second, D3 is a shoot em up, third, they are all ammo based. All, even the lasers. If they run out of ammos, babye!  Plus morons that can't argue w/o saying stuff like "are you dumb or just mentaly retarded?" just prove one thing: their arguments are as biaised as this thread, and not even worthy discussing with them.

As much as I like D3...none of the weapons are even near kt level yields.    The shields are extremely sensitive to projectile weapons (namely the vauss and mass driver) show that a single AAA beam would vaporize any of the smaller craft with ease.  Hell, the Pyro GX (one of the most heavily armed craft in Descent) has a max speed that is slower than the any of the bombs in Freespace! (55mph if memory serves)

I gotta admit, in any given 1v1 dogfight, I'd have to hand it to the D3 ships, simply because they would be able to outmanouver by virtue of sliding. Of course, once you bring in something as simple as an Aeolus... not only would flak toast any one of them, but the beams would ignore their shields and blast right through the nonexistent armor.

I love D3, but I bet for FS2 ships: D3 ships are too damn slow, they won't even be able to avoid FS2 shots.
