Strange secondary behavior
Playing in the last few weeks I've notice some strange behavior in secondaries while playing multi.  I would have written it off as packet loss except I was the host.  It seems like secondaries loose their ability to track at certain points in the game.  Br track I mean they just fire and don't move.  I'm not talking about the not tracking due to CM's.  When this occurs you fire the missiles and they just sit there or move very slowly.  This is especially noticeable with trebs but happens with most secondaries.  I haven't noticed it with bombs yet though.   One place I have noticed this quite frequently is when using a ship with 2 secondary banks and the first one is emptied.  This doesn't always cause it though.  It is quite random but when it happens it seems to stick around for several launch attempts then things go back to normal.  Anyone else seen something like this?

Re: Strange secondary behavior
Okay. I've had this same problem, and I doubt the computer fires countermeasures at the exact instant you fire the missile.

Re: Strange secondary behavior
Even if the computer did fire CM's at the same moment they should go after either the ship or the CM's not just "float" there.

Re: Strange secondary behavior
Well, in my game they just act as if fired at empty space, I don't know about FUBAR.

Re: Strange secondary behavior
Same thing mine are doing.  You fire them and they just act like they were dumb fired.  Only thing is they travel slower then they would if they were just dumb fired.

Re: Strange secondary behavior
You mean they travel more slowly than more slowly than normal? Because, IIRC, dumbfired aspect-seeking missiles travel slower than if they were actively seeking a target.

Re: Strange secondary behavior
Yea even slower then normal dumb fired aspect seeking.  I'd say they travel at about the speed of cyclops.
