Character pic for a D20 Modern game
A friend of mine came up with the idea of 'Teen-Idols-In-Space-Who-Also-Fly-Starfighters-For-Reasons-That-You'll-Find-Out.'

Out of some six of us players, only one of us was allowed to play a bloke, in order to keep the anime comedy thing of multiple girls, one guy.

Needless to say, I didn't get that role...

Still, this is the character I came up with.

I'm rather pleased with it. Only took me about six hours! :D

that right arm needs to be longer, but otherwise it's approaching some manga quality.

Re: Character pic for a D20 Modern game
She's actually pointing forward-right (from her perspective) with her right arm, so there's some slight foreshortening there. :)

Glad you guys like it though. :)

She's a little unusual for a pop idol in that she's got a valid opinion on pretty much everything, and isn't afraid to voice it. Much to her manager's consternation! Still, she's become the darling of the chat shows! :D

Ah, then the perspective on the curled fingers makes it look otherwise. But I cant draw hands for the life of me, so I cant offer suggestions how to help that :p

Fair enough then. :D

I would agree that it's an awkward pose, but it fits the situation, so we make do. :)

Did you pull inspiration from Tifa from FF7 by any chance?

I see similarities in the face and outfit.

This year, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union Address occurred during the same week.  This is an ironic juxtaposition of events--one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication, while the other involves a groundhog.

No inspiration whatsoever. :)

The only similiarities I can see is that they both are female and both have brown hair. :)

Too colourful... :eek2: However it reminds me of THE IDOLM@STER.

Her arm is a bit short given the pose it's in. Also given the amount of lighting, she would need a lot more intense shading, especially on her skin.

Actually it's about the right length (you just need to imagine a correct angle), but instead it's perhaps a bit too thin/narrow/small towards the end/viewer. Especially considering it's closer than the other hand and yet it appears to be smaller...

Other than that, looks good to me.

That arm needs some shadowing or lines around the elbow joint to show that it's being foreshortened.  Otherwise it looks good :)
