I think it comes from the sud in Vasudan. They were called 'suds at some point, which later became 'zods.

I like "vas" better though. That's actually what Volition uses in some of their event names.

Zod came from the zodiac names used to designate vassy wings in FS1 (Popularized to some extent by Zodiac Dust, which was a derivation anyway).

You and some other people seemed to miss the intent of my post.  I was satirizing political correctness.

Anyway, Black Wolf has the right explanation.  Eishtmo came up with the term while brainstorming fan fiction for FS1.

Seriously, I created it.  Like Black Wolf said, the idea was that signs of the zodiac are used to define the wings.  I later created the Zod Dust stuff for the TVWP background information.

I just figured there needed to be a rather unpleasant term for Vasudans.  Got the idea from Space:  Above and Beyond (Chigs) and history itself (Japs, Krauts, Gooks, etc, etc).
