I think you lot should quit arguing.... you sound like a bunch of old ladies playing bingo.

Honestly, Mac and Windows are just operating systems.... you're acting like you're at war.

Yeah, I got a Mac.... I also got a Windows machine too.
I see the Pros and Cons of both, and I don't like one more than the other.

The argument is more about Apple's and mac's attitude towards people who don't use their product, than anything else.

Someone from one of the Linux distro development groups should get some cash together and run an ad: Linux walks in and shoots both Mac and PC, closing with the line "Got Root?".

I do find myself almost wishing that virus creators would target Apple to make that point...

I seem to remember them doing just that about a year ago... someone made a couple of (harmless) worms for the Mac OS, just to prove they could.

Well my 2 cents.
My father has been a professional photographer for like 20+ years, and has 2 macs in his studio, and 3 PC's. Never on the PC's have he had any issues opening and editing his customers photos no matter the format. However on the Macs that supposed to never crash, fail,  give errors, and is absolutely perfect out the box as Apple states. He had over 1500, (yes one thousand five hundred) customer photos experience file association issues, and flat out disappear  in an instant from the All Perfect Mac. This has happened several times (one of the types of tech issues apple don't tell you about). So in a nutshell, my dad won't abandon PC's because of these repeated issues. So Steve Jobs take note. It's not a lot of fun when your paycheck depends on your equipment working properly, customers are screaming, and your Apple products keep coming up short on its claims.

He still had to buy retail software apps for the Macs to do his work even though apple says they have all the software you'll ever need already built in.  Apple = Racket

I've used the macs, and don't get me wrong I do like them quite a bit, but besides having a flashy OS, there is not really anything I see that a Mac can do that a PC can't. I have a Mac Fanboy that works with me in the IT department that brings his Macbook in and tries to convince me to give up my PC's (i have several that are all home built) and buy a MAC on a near daily basis. The more i use his and my fathers Mac's the more I see that they don't fit my user profile. The few professional mac users out there that use it for work or projects are the minute few who really do anything substantial with their computers, where the majority of mac fanboy bandwagon users swho scream and holler PC's suck while jumping up and down like mad toddlers, are not doing  much with their machines other than downloading porn, editing myspace pages (the two places alot of the viruses are coming from these days anyway), and creating youtube videos. Whoop Dee Doo! For those reasons, I'm going to go pay triple the cost for a Mac! (just kidding dudes)

All jokes and ribs aside, I just can't justify buying a proprietary un-upgradable computer product to play and mod video games and surf the net which is all i do while on the home PC's where what I have now does that just fine without having to be a slave to Steve Jobs. :pimp:

Whenever I get into arguments about PCs and Macs here, the only argument the Mac side seems to have is "I just like it,"

...

(I'm not on the mac side)

Re: Is it just me or are the Mac vs. PC ads getting really obnoxious?
I have to admit the whole Apple vs PC thing seems to have become very elitist. If you're a PC user the trend seems to be that you're looked down upon as inferior for not having discovered the greatness that is a Mac.

Well bugger that.

I'm perfectly happy with my PC, it does what I want and doesn't crash. The whole elitist culture of the Mac is a real turn off.

Exactly.
This can only be summed up like this: ****in-A, man.  Besides arent MACs inferior anyways?(MY poor brother has to work with them at his work...)

Then another one would walk in with another gun. And then, another one... third... fourth... eighth...16th...32,64,128,256 and more Linux Distros, all partially incompatible with at least some part of themselves, indicated by missing hands, legs etc. replaced by clumsy and hacky-looking implants that do the job (or not), all with some kind of gun, and then they start fighting each other off, and in the end the scent of fresh blood draws Microsoft to the scene, it re-animates the perished PC by inserting a parasite into it, making it a Flood-like, cloggering zombie-like mutilated remnant of it's original self, tripping all the way spewing error messages everywhere but just refusing to die.

...I think I need to re-install Windows at some point near future. It's getting unpredictably crashy again. I guess it's that time of the year (when I installed it last year)...

I also think that I need to pirate the operating system they use on the space shuttle orbiter's main computers. At least it would be stable.

It would also do absolutely nothing useful, nor work with any of your hardware. Sounds like a fat chick.
