Sex, in and of itself, is an action. Its not moral or immortal, right or wrong. Its like breathing. Its built into us. Sex is a natural part of the human species, coded into the very essence of our being. The key word here is 'natural'.

Religion, marriage, and their trappings, are not natural. They are an artificial construct of Man. As such, they come kind of late to the whole organic reproduction party. Man was having sex before religion and marriage.

Sex is a natural, wonderful thing. Why cloud it up with all that extraneous and irrelevent folderol? If you feel its the right thing for the two of you and your partner feels its the right thing for the two of you, its okay. If its not right for either or both of you, its not okay. Its a pretty simple thing.

BTW, wasn't Lucifer called 'the Morning Star' not the 'North Star'?

And ummm if the act of sex itself constitutes marriage, not vows and the other such "trappings",...then why is it nearly ALL relegions have a certain manner in which a marriage is to be preformed.

  ps! you're all right, it is the 'Morning star'.  I was mixing my references up a little (I'm constant as the north star).  Anyway, I always love discussions like these (I find them to be quite fun... as long as they don't turn into flame-wars.

Urination comes naturally. Urination on another individual or in their food never came up on my list of natural urges. Trees, sure. Food and people? Nope.

ROFLMAO!  You could probably charge admission fees to that wedding  

I think we've answered the question on why we need weddings to get married... basically as a public announcement that you are married.  Very important in old testament times, remember that adultry was a captial offense
