They use an IMAX projector in the Boston Museum of Science's Omni Theater. It's the most terrifying thing I've ever experienced. The incline of the seat rows is ridiculously steep, so you're totally exposed inside a massive dome with a screen on it. They warn people with heart conditions or fear of heights not to go in.

I got sick and threw up half way through watching a documentary film (Niagara Fall) in the IMAX theater when I was 15.

advantage to living in the T-dot.  I have a choice of a few Imaxs not so far, but I shall see it at the Paramount (i refuse, REFUSE, to call it Scotiabank Theatre  :ick: ) which is just a relatively short walk away.
It's called the Scotiabank Theatre? You mean the one on Richmond and John?

It's a great theatre, I saw a bunch of movies there (Children of Men, V for Vendetta)

It is now.  Scotiabank paid cineplex the normal crap load of cash to slap its name across the front of it.  it's still the same great theatre, just with a more corporate whorish name.  after the travesty of Skydome (its not the bleeping Rogers Centre...its SKYDOME!), i refuse to call the Paramount by any other name...

i think i shall start a topic discussing this further...

regardless of its name though...the 300 shall await me.

Saw it today, and I heartily recommend it to anyone and everyone. They took some liberties in deviating from the comic, which was usually to the film's detriment. The film drifted even more away from the plausible into the realm of pure fantasy and it ended up a bit cheesy. They also tried to add in the standard emotional love story crap, which didn't fit very well. But all that is minor details in what is otherwise a great flick.

Overall a very good movie if you're expecting the right thing, namely epic action and lots of it.

Not really one to take the girlfriend to. If there's any scene the doesn't have a boatload of blood, it will probably have boobs.

Heh, well my girl has a huge crush on Gerrard Butler, and can appreciate boobs if they're good boobs. I'll take her to see it next week.

Mefustae was wrong.  This should be the tagline. :p
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

nope.

although it is sad that when people try to sacrifice their lives for freedom nowadays, they end up as pawns in some corrupt politician's power/money grab.

I'm so seeing this in IMAX within a week. Maybe it'll be my 'Yay, you survived the SAT and ACT within three days of each other!' present.

Regardless, I can't wait. Looks amazing. The only common complaints I've seen in reviews lately is the movie's game-y look (couldn't care less) and that nearly every line is screamed (again, couldn't care less).

Here's to hoping I can take the gore. Blood's fine, but when limbs start flying I can get a tad squeemish. Maybe the extreme pwnage will override that. XD

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Funny, because I took my nice, Catholic girl best friend to see it with me. She said she liked it.

Too bad Just Like You Imagined didn't make it into the film. They really synced it up well with the shots in the trailer.
