Campaign of the Week - The Lightning Marshal
Here's Admiral Nelson's half finished update. Play it and report bugs.

Alright, here is my WIP Lightning Marshal folder:

Click

For the LM1 and LM2 missions I added Lightspeed backgrounds and nameplates.  There are bugs in these missions that need to be fixed before they are playable.  You will also note the LM prequel campaign "Sirius" in the folder; I have not yet touched this campaign as it too has bugs.  We'd need to go thru all of the LM1 and 2 missions and crush any bugs along the way.

BTW does this folder include the voice acting? Given the size I'm assuming it does.

Re: Campaign of the Week - The Lightning Marshal
No, Lm1 and 2 aren't voice acted.  It does have its own music, which is where the size comes from.

The first mission of Lm1 is oddly designed.  Reading the events it is clear that the enemy destroyer is meant to spend the entire mission in system.  However, its initial orders are to fly to the warp point and jump.  Once it leaves, the mission continues forever as the mission ending presumes that the ship is still in system.

If you need any of the originals, I might just be able to find the voice acting files I did for later LM chapters.

Was that campaign ever finished? If no, is there a possibility to finish it?

Re: Campaign of the Week - The Lightning Marshal
I don't think the project should be about finishing campaigns. Finishing off a campaign can be a huge task.

Now once we've gotten all the old campaigns working it might be worth it. :)

Should I post the bugs here? And I should post them in the post or through an attachment?

Post any bugs here. If you've fixed them and the new file as an attachment.

So, did anyone play these?  I found people interested in Titan Rebellion and in Warzone, but not a peep here....

I played some of it... my problem is I keep forgetting to create a new pilot for different mods, so they get corrupted and I don't wanna start the campaigns all over again, takes a long time... :ick:

Re: Campaign of the Week - The Lightning Marshal
I made a fix to LMarshal 1 that fixed the problem with the liberty (Unknown Ship) leaving before the mission goals were complete.  The mission had been set up for the NTD liberty to do waypoints once and then leave.  The mission goal required you to destroy gemini wing to protect the Actium.  You are not supposed to be able to destroy the Liberty.  There are 3 waves of Gemini wing and only 2 were being launched before the Liberty departed.  I changed the departure to rely on the destruction of Gemini wing to fix the problem.  I forgot to ask are we trying to keep the campaign compatible with Retail FS2?  I made the changes using Fred 3.6.9

Normal people believe that if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Engineers believe that if it isn't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet.

Re: Campaign of the Week - The Lightning Marshal
I checked only the first 3 missions of the Regulus Campaign due to RL issues. I wanted to post this file when I finished checking everything, but I'll start posting this so you can tell me if it's the kind of work you need.

These are good.  Probably better to just post the text here so that its easy for anyone to read.

And what if some people can't or prefer not to?

There are plenty of ways to add SCP features without making the campaign retail-incompatible.

Re: Campaign of the Week - The Lightning Marshal
LMarshal1 seems to be better now.  I note that I need to provide an XMT to correct the vertical guns on the Liberty.  The player seems to start out uncomfortably close to the Actium, too.

yeah, you got to love a campaign where the very first thing you start out doing is crashing into your own ships!
