Firstly, can I  just give a big "hello" to you all, as this is my initial post.

Secondly, I was toying with the idea of doing a campaign centred around everyone's favourite organisation, the PsiCorps.

I haven't decided many details, but it will probably take place during the establishment of Byron's Telepath colony on Babylon 5. Probably starting with a little underhandedness and cold-bloodedness on the part of the corps, moving onto full scale resistance as the underground railroad is established. Ideally, i think about six missions, which I appreciate is a little short, but more can be added. I plan on having the first mission complete within a few hours, minus the briefing, or at least with a very basic briefing.

I was thinking of calling it "The Long Arm of the Corps".  Obviously a spin on "The Long Arm of the Law", but also a title that alludes to the PsiCorps' far-reaching influence.

So, please give me some feedback, let me know what you think, and if you feel like lending a hand, please do. Specifically I need help building it into campagin, as I know how to do individual missions but not link them together. Also, my skills in preparing briefings are a little weak, but I think a little trial and error will see me through there.
Oh, and just remember.....

The Corps Is Mother
The Corps Is Father
Trust The Corps

Planning a campaign is a pain in the arse, though a pleasant one.

When you are on a major project, there always are two possible approaches: over Broadth or over Width.
YOu can either take your time to write one mission after the other, never moving on till everything is complete, or you write a mission, lay it out roughly, them move on to the next. While writing, you will get thousands of ideas, things which could blend in here or there, nice logical transitions, developments, reasons for the characters to do this and that...

Dont think in categories of "ships arrive, shooting starts", think in categories like "WHY are we doing this, what does our side want to achieve, how would the others react, what are the peoples personal agendas....."

My approach was the following ( on EACW )

Starting with a number of textfiles. One textfile for the campaign overview, listing missions, characters and so on, and for every mission an own textfile where you list the stuff that is supposed to happen IN DETAIL, notes, planned dialogue lines and so...

it might be easier just to write up a story first roughly with beginning middle and end, then make general level ideas, then get more specific.

If your doing a Psi-Corps Campaign someone will halve to model the Black Omega Heavy Transport seen in Epiphenies. It might also be a good idea to do some Black Omega Reskins of the EA Capitals

The Omega Destroyer (literal Black Omega)
The Hyperion/Midwinter Cruisers
and The Nova Dreadnought

To Make room, remove the Dilgar ship, Some of the League ships and a few Minbari/Narn/Centuari.

Keep in All Earth Ships(Any Psi-Corps Campaign should be played either by the Corps itself or by an earth pilot), All Shadow and Drakh ships (Corps had contact with the Shadows and i believe several Black projects involving the Drakh and Shadow Tech - the Shadow Hybrid and that Ship in Ship of tears, for instance) and all ISA ships (restoring what I believe Crusade could have become if it hadn't been Raped by TNT.

You would also have to create a way to scan the enemy ships in the line of sight so that you could guess their intentions. :D

That could be done via scripting events

  • Oceans rise. Empires fall.
There is a Psi corp campaign called "The Black Hand" by Orpheus if I remember right,I tested it last year still have it about somewhere. Not sure if it was released.

that was chapter one.. yes, it was released for 3.2 (critics where bad.. but without the second chapter (WIP) you simply don't understand the plotline)
Wavey, you had the test version of the 3.2 to 3.3 refit... now I'm working on the 3.4 update (so far no trouble) - re-release will come ASAP
