Most fast-paced game you've ever played?
What's the fastest game you've ever played? As in, what required the most from your reflexes, hand eye coordination, etc?

I'd say for me it's the Unreal Tournament series and BtRL.

Tremulous?  I haven't played too much, except for Descent series, FS series, some racing games, and some RPGs (or whatever you call Age of Empires - like games).

Unreal Tournament (the original game, not the newer ones) and Ballistics (a racing title). I tend to prefer these types of games over slower ones and am typically much better at them.

Descent 3, most likely.  I could throw the Guitar Hero games in there too, if rhythm games count.

Rainbow Six multiplayer.

Especially before you get any good at it.

Tachyon: The Fringe, UT series, BTRL, Mechwarrior 4/Mercs (use an Osiris!), oh, and B5: IFH, JK2: O, and IL:2.

The more insanity/complexity, the better.  Tachyon is still the only game I've snapped a joystick in half while playing, though.

It's that quick.

Re: Most fast-paced game you've ever played?
there was this console game for the sega saturn called tunnel b1, it was sort of a hovercraft combat sim, you had to drive along a racetrack style course and kill certain objectives in a rather small amount of time. it always gave me a major adreniline rush to play it and the graphics werent half bad either. im not sure if there ever was a pc version but there was a playstation version.

probibly number 2 would be tetris. seriously. get to level 12 or so and it gets pretty good.

...Don't most versions of tetris have a "level up" button?

Toss-up between Halo multiplayer and F-Zero GX. On the upper difficulties GX is near impossible... :shaking:

i think i played the dos version, which had a levelselect so you could pick where you wanted to start. i usually started at like 8 to warm up, i would get to around level 13 and loose. after that i just srarted playing at 10 or 11, and i could get to around 15 on average. its really all about putting yourself into a tetris trance. once you reach that point clearing a couple thousand lines is an easy task. there was a button to advance a level but i usually never used it.

Star Wars Ep 1, Pod Racer. Going 300-400mph and crashing into canyons walls!!! Yowzers. Especially that the first level on Tatooine, where a canyon narrows suddenly to about a foot wider than your racer is tall, and therefore you quickly have to turn your racer on it's side or splat! Whew!

Re: Most fast-paced game you've ever played?
This racing game called 'Ballistics' from a few years back. The entire game was effectively built around going as fast as you could along a tube, and it accomplishes this rather well. Seriously, it makes Episode 1 Pod Racer look like a group of grannies out for a sunday drive.

If you like fast games I recommend you check it out, the demo should be floating around the Intertubes somewhere.
