Decided to try and make an animated beam, so this is what I got... I'll be making the beam color more defined though, don't know why the green part isn't very noticable.

Yea I know... I didn't want to take forever to render so I made the scene just on the verge of 2 seconds... lol

the Nebula is mine lol =)so's the starfield created for my render somewhere below - deep patrol - but yeah the beam looks nice =)

Yea, sorry about that tho, forgot  
Any future renders will probably be done using KMN's background, it fits my needs and all  
 I'll probably be using that until I make my own that is

How does one go about compressing movies to .avi files? I can't find a prog to do it...

I just have the option for which codec to use when I choose how to save the anim...

And sandwich I'll think about it, I'll have to ask around for how to do 3d meltings and explosions

the animation is short yet excellent; all you need is the beam sound fx and it'll be even cooler. Hey you could even have a short animation of your corp name.

There are reasons why animations are rare here, and only one of them has to do with the difficulty of making them...
