I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before and knows how to correct it. Incase it helps my system specs are.

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ (2.4 Ghz)

If you need any additional information just let me know.

Re: Having a problem with FRED
I get that message sometimes when I play FS2 when FRED is still open... Try running it again?

:welcome:

Welcome to the HLPBB!!!

37th...

I got that error a couple of times. I think it was connected to the graphic card(of another computer).

Re: Having a problem with FRED
There isn't any kind of a problem with FS2 Open. The problem is when I try to get into FRED. As for the graphics card I have updated the drivers but still get the same error message.  :(

Re: Having a problem with FRED
I would suggest you to use FRED2 Open instead of FRED2(because I think it could be a possible reason)but I noticed that you're using FRED2 Open 3.6.9. There are problems of compatability - in another computer I had a problem similar to yours. I don't remember the solution

Re: Having a problem with FRED
I've still had no luck with the problem, I completly wiped out the C: drive and reloaded everything. Fred 2 Open then worked fine for a few hours but then it started giving me this error again. The drive that there error refrences (J:) is my DVD drive and can't think of why it would want 2 swap anything with it. I really just don't have a clue at this point. If anyone has any idea please let me know.

Re: Having a problem with FRED
The path in the error refers to the path on the cpu that was used to compile the build. It has absolutely nothing to do with your computer.

Re: Having a problem with FRED
Well I'm happy to say I have found a temp fix to the problem  :). In the windows dir Fred Open creates a file named (fred2_open_3_6_9.INI). By removing this file I was able to get Fred Open to launch. All my settings had of course been lost (Movment speed, rotation speed, ect) but at lest it now works. Every now and again when it starts acting up again and I must repeat the procedure to get Fred working again. But for now at lest it works. If you have been having a similar problem I sugjest giving it a try.

Now that is interesting. Never heard of that file corrupting before.
