Sorry, but I have to tell it you.

I feel that you forgot about GNU/Linux users. WINE is supporting retail FRED 2, but it usually crasher after 10 minutes. FRED 2 Open is working horrible.

Could you do something with this? I really HATE working with M$ windows system, working under Linux cotnrol is much better. Please, Fix FRED or make GNU/Linux version!

Well... If you can find a good wxGTK-Programmer that is willing to work on wxFRED for free...
Because there IS a start on a Multi-Platform FRED2. wxFRED2, like I said... But the work has only begun (many months ago).

BTW: FRED2_Open is working fine with wine for me... Well... As of the black menu-bug....

Yep. That's the basic problem. With only maybe 5-6 active coders there's simply not enough people to work on wxFRED without seriously delaying progress in other fields.

If I'm lucky, I'll start a job training as an IT Specialist in the area of application development this year (I hope these are the right words for it. In german it's called "Fachinformatiker im Bereich Anwendungsentwicklung").
If this gets true, I'll also try to learn OpenGL/SDL/wxGTK programming (if I have enough time).
And then I would be glad to help (again - if I have enough time).

I have some extra time to help, I have already learned some C,C++.  The only thing I need to learn is how to use wxWidgets.  The reason is because I've only done console applications.  I am willing to learn.

I always just look at an existing file or missionsave.cpp whenever I need one.
