I recently tried doing a ship nameplate for my campaign that I am making/modding. I realized something important that day: I suck at making nameplates.
Both FRED2 Open and GIMP yelled at me whenever I tried saving or using the modified texture. If anyone could tell what to do in terms of which files to use and what files I have to make and anything else I probably need to know, that would be nice, since this is my first time doing any modding period. I tried looking up how to do it, but everything was for Orion nameplates and in photoshop. BTW, I use GIMP 2.0 with DDS plug-in and FRED2 Open, and I am currently working on a leviathan nameplate. Any help is much appreciated.
